Deadly Overnight Crash in Lubbock Claims Two Lives, Leaves One Seriously Injured

LUBBOCK, TX — Tragedy struck in the early hours of Saturday morning when a violent overnight crash claimed the lives of 28-year-old Ruiz Pardo and 31-year-old Alexandra Ordaz, and left another person fighting for their life, the Lubbock Police Department confirmed.

According to officials, the collision occurred shortly after midnight. Emergency dispatchers received multiple calls reporting a serious crash, prompting an immediate response from police, fire, and EMS crews. Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle that had sustained catastrophic damage, with three occupants trapped inside.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Pardo and Ordaz were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant, whose identity has not been released, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to University Medical Center for emergency treatment. Their current condition remains unknown.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit has launched a full investigation into the incident. Detectives are examining all possible contributing factors, including speed, impairment, and roadway conditions. Officials have not confirmed whether other vehicles were involved or if weather played a role in the crash.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud impact and seeing emergency crews working for over an hour to clear the scene. “It was heartbreaking to watch. You could tell it was bad from the moment they arrived,” one resident told reporters.

Family and friends of the victims have begun expressing their grief on social media, describing both Pardo and Ordaz as kind, joyful individuals who left lasting impressions on everyone they met. “They were both full of life, always smiling. It’s hard to believe they’re gone,” wrote one friend in a tribute post.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash or who has dashcam footage to come forward and assist investigators.

This fatal crash marks another somber reminder of the dangers faced on the roadways, especially during late-night and early-morning hours when visibility is lower and reaction times can be critical.
