Blackshear Mourns the Loss of Cary Lee Lovell, 33, Following Tragic Motorcycle Accident
Blackshear, GA — The community of Blackshear is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Cary Lee Lovell, who tragically passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in nearby Waycross. He was 33 years old.
Born on June 8, 1992, in Waycross, Cary spent his entire life in Pierce County, where he was known for his kind spirit, adventurous personality, and devotion to his family and friends. A longtime delivery driver for CBR, Cary was a familiar face to many and cherished by those who knew him.
Cary had a passion for the outdoors and was happiest when fishing, riding four-wheelers, or cruising on his motorcycle. He also had a deep love for travel and discovering new places, often sharing stories and photos of his adventures. A man of faith, Cary was a member of Blackshear First United Methodist Church and had recently been attending Remnant Church in Waycross.
His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the broader community. He is lovingly remembered as a devoted son, a loyal brother, a caring partner, and a proud father.
Cary is survived by his beloved son, Gradon Bowen of Waycross; his fiancée, Paitan Cole of Blackshear; his mother, Sherry Lee Gill Lovell, and father, Jerry Wayne Lovell, both of Blackshear; two sisters, Mary (Robert) Ferrell and Erica Lovell, also of Blackshear; and four brothers, Terry Lovell, Gary (Sarah) Lovell, and Wayne Lovell of Blackshear, and Wendell (Emily) Lovell of Waycross. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Daniel Frank and Shirley Amelia Wallis Gill, Jr., as well as his paternal grandparents, Willie Monroe Lovell and Mary Lee Boatright Lovell Floyd.
A funeral service honoring Cary’s life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel in Blackshear. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Waters Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to say their final goodbyes.
