Four-Year-Old Zaahir Jan Dies After Being Struck by Bus Outside Margate Hospital; Family Mourns Devastating Loss

MARGATE, Kent — A devastating accident claimed the life of four-year-old Zaahir Jan on Thursday afternoon after he was struck by a bus just outside the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital. The tragic incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. as Zaahir was leaving the hospital following a visit to see his grandmother.

Emergency responders rushed Zaahir inside the hospital for emergency treatment, but despite their swift efforts, the young boy was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. The heartbreaking loss has left the family and local community reeling with grief.

Zaahir’s mother, Azaria Green, shared an emotional message on a GoFundMe page created to support the family during this difficult time. She described her son as a “sweet, funny boy with a cheeky smile that could make anyone’s heart full,” and expressed the profound devastation felt by the family.

“On August 7, 2025, my son, who was only four years old, fell under a bus and died immediately,” Azaria wrote. “I am so lost. He was my most beautiful little Jan. I didn’t even get to tell him how much I love him.”

She continued, “Everyone is devastated — that word doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel. Our sweet boy’s smile is gone forever. We can’t hold him, cuddle him, or hear his laughter anymore. But I want to give him the best and most comfortable burial. My baby, I wish you were here with me.”

The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise funds to cover funeral expenses and provide support to the grieving family during this heartbreaking time.

Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. No further details have been released, but the incident has deeply affected residents of Margate.

Zaahir’s tragic death is a painful reminder of the importance of road safety and community support during times of loss. The family and community now seek solace and healing amid their immense grief.
