Panthers CB Jaycee Horn Involved in Car Accident, Misses Practice

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn was involved in a car accident on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025, while on his way to the team facility. Though the incident was alarming, team officials have confirmed that Horn did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

The 25-year-old defensive back sustained a minor injury to his left thumb during the crash, requiring several stitches. As a precaution, he was held out of Wednesday’s joint practice session with the Cleveland Browns.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales addressed the media following practice and reassured fans about Horn’s condition. “Jaycee’s okay. He was evaluated by our medical staff and is doing well. We’re just being cautious,” Canales said.

Horn, who is entering his fourth season in the NFL, was present at the facility later in the day and appeared in good spirits. He also took to social media, posting: “I’m straight! Nun major thank God.”

Law enforcement has not released additional details about the circumstances of the crash, and there were no reports of other injuries.

The Panthers are expected to monitor Horn’s recovery day by day. As of now, there is no indication the accident will have a long-term impact on his availability for the upcoming season.

Jaycee Horn, son of former NFL wide receiver Joe Horn, has battled injuries in previous seasons but remains a cornerstone of the Panthers’ defense when healthy. His safety and well-being remain the team’s top priority as training camp continues.

The Carolina Panthers are set to continue joint practices with the Browns this week ahead of their preseason opener.
