Triple Homicide Investigation Underway After Three Found Dead in Red Bay Apartment

RED BAY, AL – A quiet Wednesday evening turned tragic when three people were found dead inside an apartment on Eugenia Nixon Circle, part of the Red Bay Housing Authority.

According to the Red Bay Police Department, officers were dispatched to the housing complex shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, after receiving reports of an unresponsive person. Upon arrival, police discovered three individuals — two adults and one juvenile — deceased inside a single unit.

Authorities have not yet released the names or ages of the victims, pending notification of family members. The cause of death has also not been officially confirmed, but investigators say the circumstances are “highly suspicious” and are treating the case as a homicide investigation.

Red Bay Police Chief Janna Jackson said the discovery has shaken the small Franklin County community.

“This is a tragedy that no community ever wants to face,” Chief Jackson stated. “We are working tirelessly alongside state investigators to determine what happened and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has joined the investigation, along with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation. Crime scene units remained at the location for several hours overnight, collecting evidence and interviewing neighbors.

Residents in the Red Bay Housing Authority complex described the area as typically quiet, with many families who have lived there for years. Several neighbors reported seeing increased police presence in the days leading up to the discovery, though authorities have not confirmed any prior incidents connected to the victims.

Local schools have been notified due to the involvement of a juvenile victim, and grief counselors are being made available to students and staff.

Investigators have not released any information about possible suspects or motives but are urging anyone with tips to come forward.

“If you saw or heard anything unusual in the area recently, no matter how small it may seem, please contact law enforcement,” Chief Jackson said. “Your information could be vital to solving this case.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Red Bay Police Department at (256) 356-4455 or the Franklin County Crime Stoppers at (256) 332-8811. Callers can remain anonymous.

The investigation remains active, and more details are expected to be released in the coming days.
